Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party presidential candidate Raila Odinga was on Thursday heckled by a group of youth before he addressed a rally in Marsabit.

The Garba and Borana clans of Marsabit County are embroiled in clashes that often play out at political functions.

Meanwhile, accusations of editing videos, manipulating crowd photos, to ferrying followers from one meeting to another on Thursday bedeviled UDA Party bloggers who are being ostracized on both mainstream and social media.

Dennis Itumbi’s latest technique in video editing was exposed on Thursday when a clip showing Francis Atwoli is manipulated with a voice-over to purportedly respond to a question posed by the COTU Chairman with chants of “Ruto! Ruto!”. The original video clip is several years old and the response to Atwoli is a resounding shout of “Baba! Baba!”.

On Tuesday Tujibebe Wakenya Party leader Kabogo confirmed claims by CCK leader Moses Kuria that the Kenya Kwanza campaigns in the Kiambu gubernatorial race were made up of hired crowds.

During the anti-Building Bridges Initiative campaigns, DP Ruto commandeered mammoth crowds creating the impression that he had an upper hand only for 44 Counties out of 47 to vote against his stand.

The Ruto crowds are more inspired by a quest for optics and make-believe rather than translating into votes.  With the countdown to the August poll, they now reflect desperation that does not shy from packaging outright lies.

Itumbi and his army of keyboard warriors are nonetheless finding it increasingly tedious to exploit Twitter users who are normally less gullible than their counterparts on other social media platforms.
