Champion Rovanpera celebrates his victory at the Kenyan leg of the World Rally Championship on Sunday 26 June 2022.
Rovanpera also made history by becoming the youngest driver to win the Safari Rally after clinching victory in the sixth round of the 2022 World Rally Championship.
The 22-year-old from Finland celebrates the fourth victory out of the six rounds of the 2022 WRC series so far. He becomes the only driver to have won the WRC events on three different surfaces – tarmac, snow, and gravel.

Another Toyota Yaris driven by Elfyn Evans and Scott Martin was placed second overall, while Takamoto Katsuta and Aaron Johnston of Japan made it a hat-trick of the top three positions for the Toyota Team.
The Kenyan leg of the World Rally Championship is ranked as one of the toughest with part of the terrain given the ominous name of Sleeping Warrior.
This year’s event staged in Naivasha attracted a good number of participants and revelers alike.
