African think-tank Center for African Progress (CAP) has released a poll showing that Azimio la Umoja One Kenya candidate Raila Amollo Odinga is leading in popularity by a margin of 7% from his closest rival.
The poll viewed as one of the most credible because of CAPs professional standards has proved right another poll by TIFA whose results were released last week and placed Raila at 47% while Ruto trails him at 44%.
The gap between the two contestants could have opened up after the Presidential Debate in which Ruto left the worse for popularity having engaged in an inane monologue for over one-and-half hours.
The DPs popularity has been further dented by his passionate defense of the three Venezuelans who were arrested ferrying voter material illegally.
According to the latest poll by CAP Raila is at 52% while Ruto trails him at 45%. It’s not often that pollsters with such diverse orientations would agree on anything.
With barely nine days to go before the poll, Raila is leading and there’s a high likelihood that he will maintain the lead in the remaining week.
