Woman In Police Custody For Stabbing Man In Kisii

A 30-year-old woman is currently cooling her heels in police custody after she was arrested by detectives based in Kisii following an incident that claimed a man’s life. The man who has since been identified as James Kuria and who worked as a supervisor at Shivling Supermarket was stabbed to death by the woman.

According to reports, an altercation ensued between the man and the woman triggering a bitter exchange between the two. According to witnesses, the man is reported to have erupted and slapped the woman in front of colleagues and customers. The woman in response after being given a hot slap by the 36-year-old supervisor took out her knife and aimed for the man’s neck.

She casually stabbed the man in the neck and walked out to a Bodaboda shed where she boarded a Bodaboda in a hurry to an unknown location. The man was left behind to die as he was bleeding profusely. He was later rushed to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital but he died on the way.  His body was then transferred to the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital morgue where a postmortem exercise is expected to take place.

The incident is reported to have happened on Saturday (a market day) thereby attracting the attention of many residents of Kisii town. According to the residents, Mr. Kuria who worked at Shivling Supermarket was a kind and cool man, and all the blame was placed on the woman. Even his bosses praised him for his hard and sharp work since the supermarket largely depended on him for operations.
