Former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko on Friday posted a picture of himself in a prayerful mood in renewed efforts to attract employment by the Kenya Kwanza government.

Last year during the repeat 2022 Mombasa Gubernatorial Elections Sonko claimed he was destined to occupy some “big” position in Dr. Ruto’s government.

“I want to let you know that in William Samoei Ruto’s government. I will be a junior principal,” said Sonko on the campaign trail in Mombasa, adding “If you vote for Hassan Sarai Omar, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate I promise to organize a ‘tea’ appointment between the residents of this area and President-elect Ruto.”

Sonko painted a picture that he was a “somebody” in the corridors of power. Incidentally, all the major appointments have come and gone without his name cropping up.

On Friday Sonko appeared to pluck courage and try the religious card.

Meanwhile, unverified reports have disclosed that State House is thinking of employing 100 prayer intercessors.
