Deputy. President Rigathi Gachagua on Sunday vowed to name ministers responsible for looting public coffers in the last three months of former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Mr. Gachagua made the statement at the burial of the late Sammy Njuguna Murugu a.k.a. Amin, in Karuri, Kiambaa, Kiambu County. He further disclosed that the looting of close to KES 24 billion was done between the time Dr. Ruto was announced President and the time he was sworn into office.

“When they saw the election was not going their way, they carted away the billions in sacks. [Raila didn’t want] the petition, He was forced to lodge it to allow them …to loot more public resources,” said Mr. Gachagua.

The DP was speaking only hours after it was revealed that the former Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Oken’go Matiang’i had jetted back into the country and has stayed in the UK for two weeks pursuing undisclosed family matters.

Already the Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission had instituted Investigations against Matiang’i.

Dr. Matiang’i could be summoned to present himself to the DCI to answer charges of fabricating a police invasion of his Karen residence on the night of 8 February.

In a letter dated 27 February EACC boss Twalib Mbarak said they were conducting a lifestyle audit on Dr. Matiang’i.

“Under Section 30(1) (4) (b) of the Public Officers Ethics Act, the commission wishes to request for certified copies of Declaration of Income, Assets and Liabilities forms for years 2012 to 2022, including the initial and final declarations,” the letter read in part.
