President Dr. William Samoei Ruto on Saturday nominated the immediate former Bishop of CITAM Dr. David Ongide as the Chairman of the Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC).

Dr. Oginde floored 13 other candidates shortlisted for the position including former Makueni Governor Professor Kivutha Kibwana.
If approved by Parliament he becomes the second prelate to take over the reins of the anti-graft institution in recent times after Anglican Bishop Dr. Eliud Wabukala.

Dr. Ongide bagged the appointment from a list of three recommended to the Head of State by the Public Service Commission (PSC). The list of three was made up of Ongide, Amani Yuda Komora, and the much-hyped Prof. Kivutha Kibwana.
Besides being the former Presiding Bishop of Christ in the Answer Ministries (CITAM) as well as the immediate former Chancellor of Pan Africa Christian (PAC) University, Dr. Ongide was robust in activism and social commentary during the last regime.
He is noted for efforts at reconciling then Deputy President William Ruto with his boss President Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta.

The appointment signed by State House Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Felix Koskei enumerates Dr. Oginde’s academic achievements including holding a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Regent University School of Business and Leadership in the United States of America (USA). He also has a Master’s Degree in Leadership from Pan African Christian University PAC.
Bishop Ongide is married to Nancy and they are blessed with two children Joyce and Chris.
