Calls by a section of legislators allied to Kenya Kwanza that the government arrests Azimio leader Raila Odinga together with former President Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta on Tuesday have now taken a new twist.

Alego-Usonga Member of Parliament Samuel Atandi on Wednesday weighed in with a tweet that the planned arrest of Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta is ongoing and “in top gear”.
On Tuesday National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichungwa called on the State to arrest Raila as a way of frustrating his scheduled Monday and Thursday mass action. Ichungwa issued the statement flanked by several UDA members of Parliament.

Kenyans on social media have followed keenly the raging debate on whether it’s prudent for the government to arrest Raila who is exercising his constitutional rights by picketing against the rising cost of living and other fundamental rights.
Meanwhile, unverified sources have put former President Uhuru Kenyatta at the center of the Maandamano claiming that he is the main source of funding.
