Tension gripped Nakuru County Assembly on Tuesday afternoon as an angry police officer stormed into the premises allegedly threatening to shoot Naivasha Viwandani ward MCA Mwangi Muraya.
According to witnesses the officer had trailed the MCA from Gilgil
“The officer has been chasing Muraya’s vehicle from Gilgil and upon his arrival at the assembly, he was blocked by the barrier,”A witness said.
MCA Muraya recounted the harrowing experience, claiming that the officer cocked his gun after he alighted from his car, sending shock waves through the assembly compound.
Security officers within the assembly swiftly intervened, apprehending the officer before he could carry out any harm.
The officer was subsequently handed over to officials from Kaptembwo Police Station for further investigation.
A visibly shaken Muraya later together with other MCA’s addressed the media calling for the immediate dismissal of the said officer whom he deemed a grave threat to the society
“Huyo mtu ni mbaya…afutwe kazi,”Muraya said.
