About the iTax System
The Kenyan iTax system is a digital platform created by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) to modernize and simplify tax-related tasks. It offers an online portal where individuals and businesses can easily file tax returns, make payments, and access tax services.
iTax has reduced paperwork, eliminated the need for physical tax office visits, and increased transparency in tax collection.
Furthermore, it allows real-time monitoring of tax compliance, improving revenue collection efficiency and financial inclusion in Kenya’s digital economy.
KRA has been in an aggressive drive to increase revenue collection. Recently, the authority has sent our agents who will make door-to-door visits in a quest to enhance tax compliance.
The taxman is also looking to embed it’s systems into telco platforms like M-Pesa and banks to have easier access to data and information.
