Gachagua Thrown Under the Bus As Ruto Brokers New Deal with Mudavadi, Raila, Kalonzo

The political scene in Mount Kenya has been marked with a lot of uncertainties and internal conflicts that have threatened to undermine the community’s unity.

The situation seems to be shifting as new political alliances are forming, bringing together President William Ruto, Musalia Mudavadi, Raila Odinga, and Kalonzo Musyoka.

The move is seen as a significant shift in the region’s political landscape, which is bound to have far-reaching effects on its politics.

Political pundits argue that Mount Kenya is experiencing an undercurrent political betrayal as DP Rigathi Gachagua calls for the region’s unity.

Analyst Albert Kasembeli suggests that the emerging friendship between the four leaders could lead to the re-emergence of the political Pentagon, which was evident in 2007.

This has prompted Gachagua to seek reconciliation with former President Uhuru Kenyatta, indicating a growing sense of urgency for a united front.

However, Gachagua had previously expressed his concerns about Raila Odinga’s efforts to seek a handshake with the President, saying that Ruto is an intelligent man who won’t yield to such pressure to share his government.

According to Gachagua, President Ruto wouldn’t allow the handshake people to destroy his government. On the other hand, Ruto emphasized his readiness to work with everyone for the sake of development during his recent tour of Ugenya subcounty.

The shifting alliances and allegiances in Mount Kenya have caused a lot of tension, with each camp working hard to secure the region’s support.

It remains to be seen how the situation will unfold, but one thing is clear; the region’s political landscape is undergoing a profound change that could have far-reaching effects on Kenya’s politics.
