Ofunyu Village in Kisumu East is still in dire shock after a 92-year-old granny was attacked and defiled by an unknown suspect.
She is currently admitted at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH). The granny who lives alone was then rushed to JOOTRH hospital where she is undergoing treatment following the shocking ordeal. It is alleged that the neighbours heard the commotion during that fateful night, as they rushed to the house to rescue the granny, the suspect had already fleed the scene, leaving the granny in excruciating pain. She was moaning in agony.
The local administrator, Chief Elijah Omumbo, Central Kolwa location confirmed the incident saying that the suspect might have gained entry into the granny’s house through the window before committing the heinous act.
Chief Omumbo says police in Kisumu East sub-county are probing the matter and that hopefully the suspect will be arrested and the law shall take it’s course.
The bizarre incident has sent shockwaves at Ofunyu village as many are in shock and living in fear because any sane person should not commit such a heinous act. Otherwise,the police should make haste and bring to book the suspect.
