Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC)- Homa Bay campus is one of the 67 constituent campuses of KMTC. The campus was founded in 1979 to train Enrolled Community Health Nurses (ECN). The ECN was then upgraded to a Diploma in Community Health Nursing in 1998, leading to the phasing out of the pre-service training for the enrolled nurses in 2002. Other programmes were then introduced at the diploma level.
KMTC Homabay campus currently has over 870 students enrolled in 4 different departments; Nursing, Physiotherapy, Nutrition and Clinical Medicine.

KMTC Homabay Campus Clinical Experience Sites
The main clinical experience site used by the students in KMTC Homabay Campus is the Homa Bay County Teaching and Referral Hospital. Other clinical experience sites used are approved health facilities within and outside the county. The institution also uses Mission hospitals such as Kendu Bay Mission Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital, Mumias.
