Orange Democratic Movement party has lashed out at the government for sending a large contingent of police to block Raila Amollo Odinga from accessing the Mavoko Demolition Site.

“This is what you get,” fumed ODM Party Secretary-general Edwin Sifuna, adding “When you elect rogue leaders with no idea how to run government.”

The party also issued an official communique on the matter.

“William Ruto and his administration are determined to destroy people’s hard earned sweat, force them out mercilessly and subject them to homelessness without any compensation/alternative. As we stated on Saturday, the houses being demolished will one day speak”, the statement read in part.

Police blocked the former Prime Minister of Kenya along with several Orange Democratic Movement party politicians from accessing the the site on Tuesday morning.

The incident has sparked impassioned responses from supporters of Azimio online. The big question has been why Raila was being denied access to a public parcel of land.

A police report has revealed that President William Ruto ordered the demolition while in China after a court ruled that the land belongs to a private company which intended to sell out part of the property.

Orange Democratic Movement party politician Alinur Mohammed who took to his different social media platforms to express his opinion on this topic has asked what the government under President William Ruto could possibly be hiding.

Meanwhile, Kenyans on Twitter have asked the government to play its role in weeding out unscrupulous land agents who could have Dupped investors onto the Mavoko land.
