RELEASED: Kawira Mwangaza Regains Freedom After 2 Hours Under Police Protection

The Embu Governor arrest saga took a queer turn with police claiming the Governor had never been arrested.

An officer at the scene claimed the Governor got into the police van voluntarily after a short altercation. He, did not explain, however, why she opted to stay in the van under guard for close to two hours.

“You are the one who ordered me to get in the police van,” Mwangaza insisted.

Mwangaza demanded that the police officer apologises to her.

“I thank God I’m safe OCS has apologised akasema sorry. Finally, I’m free. I thank God I’m safe,”  said the Governor as she got out of the police van.

“Why were you arresting me yet I told you I told you this is not an Okolea programme,” Mwangaza asked.

The officer who’s name could not be immediately established denied arresting her.

“You are the one who ordered me to get in the police van,” Mwangaza insisted.

Mwangaza demanded that the police officer apologises to her.

The officer apologised but insisted Mwangaza was not arrested.
