The former Kisumu County ODM Party Chairman and Muhoroni MP, Professor Ayiecho Olweny has formally ditched his support for Raila Odinga and declared henceforth he will support Dr. William Samoei Ruto.
As reported by Capital FM, Prof Ayiecho who served as the ODM Chairperson in Kisumu as well as MP for Muhoroni has formally announced that he has left the ODM Party .
Talking during a Sunday church service, Prof. Ayiecho said that he has joined Ruto’s camp and he is yet to officially register as a UDA member.
“Former Kisumu County ODM Chairman, Prof Ayiecho Olweny, has left the party and hinted at joining the UDA (United Democratic Alliance) party. Ayiecho, who was once the Member of Parliament for Muhoroni, claimed that he was expelled from the ODM party last year.” states the radio report.
While announcing his move, Ayiecho went ahead to talk about the 2027 General Elections declaring that President Ruto will have a virtual walkover against his opponents.
He affirmed his conviction that said that President Ruto will easily win the coming elections to secure his second term.
