Politics Aside Gor Mahia FC Has A New Bus Courtesy of UDA Party

Political bickering has accompanied the unveiling of a modern club bus for Gor Mahia also known as K’Ogallo FC by ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo.

There are those who have been selling a narrative that the bus was sold to the club on hire purchase terms and was not a gift as stated by the CS. Others have been drawing in the conspiracy theory that Owalo is up to some mischief (whatever it could be) in awarding the club a bus.

The truth be told, Gor Mahia has recently been hit by hard financial times despite having former Prime Minister Raila Amollo Odinga as its patron. That the gift had to come from someone aligned to Dr. William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party is understandably a bitter pill to swallow.

ODM Party leadership has taken the mantle in politicization of all aspects of members lives sparing very little time for development initiatives.

When a new breed of Luo politician rises to question the relevance of confrontational politics in this age and time, they are branded rebels. It is true that so far (according to a poll by Infotrak) State House visits have not translated into spectacular development projects. But even whatever little trickles its way into Nyanza is commendable in comparison to the perpetual bickering and underhand power struggles within ODM Party.
