Governor James Aggrey Orengo will today lead residents of Siaya County in the first National Tree Planting Day with the main event scheduled to take place at the Siaya Institute of Technology grounds.
Similar events to mark the day will take place at Ward Level in all the Siaya sub-Counties.
In Usonga and West Alego the event will take place at the banks of Nzoia River while in Central Alego the event will take place at Got Akara next to the industrial park.
Three days ago Orengo joined other Governors and CS Environment, Climate Change and Forestry Soipan Tuiya in tree planting at Muthu Keekorok Lodge in Maasai Mara as a precursor to the National Tree Growing Day scheduled for each November 13th.
In the images posted by his communication team on his timeline Orengo is seen walking around while other Governors are planting trees. It is hoped that today Senior Counsel James Aggrey Bob Orengo will actually plant a tree.
Governor Orengo was seen clapping and merrily walking behind other Governors at Mathu Keekorok Lodge who did the actual tree planting. Siaya residents hope that today he will actually plant a tree. Photo: Siaya Governor Press Unit
