Today, the Chief Officer for Agriculture, Food Security, Livestock and Blue Economy – Elizabeth Adongo held the inaugural Meeting of the County Technical Advisory Committee (CTAC) of the National Agricultural Value Chain Development Project (NAVCDP).
The Project, implemented in 32 other counties is intensifying investments in selected value chains of Poultry,tomato, Apiculture, Rice & Cotton through opening up Agribusiness opportunities along input supply, Production, distribution and marketing.
She however acknowledged that the five year project, jointly funded by the World Bank, National and County Governments will be building on the foundation set by the Kenya Climate Smart Agriculture Project (KCSAP), but urged the team to flesh out on lessons learnt and best practices even as they commence implementation .
During the meeting, CTAC reviewed the Annual Work Plan & Budget FY 2024 – 2025 to be recommended for approval.
The Meeting was attended by Representatives from: Agriculture, Livestock, Water, Cooperatives , KALRO, Kenya Wildlife Service, Kenya Fisheries Service, NEMA among others
