Siaya Governor James Orengo called on President William Ruto to repeal the Finance Act 2023 to save Kenyans burdened with the high cost of living.
Orengo said the Finance Act continues to hurt the lives of hustlers you swore to make life bearable for.
“If the president means well for Kenyans, he should listen to their cries and scrap off the finance act that has increased the cost of living,” he added
Orengo added that now that the dialogue process has been finalized and recommendations are given, the President should consider doing away with punitive taxation pegged on the financial act that enhances the high cost of living in the country, adding that this is an issue that must not necessarily wait for the report of the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) to be tabled in parliament because it is a matter of urgency.
The county boss wants the president to revisit the electoral commission.
“Even the issues of electoral reforms should not wait for approval of parliament, arguing that the President can simply begin implantation of the NADCO recommendation,” he added.
The governor stated that electoral injustice is one of the issues that has been causing turmoil after every electoral cycle hence the need for the issues to be addressed as urgent as possible.
Similar sentiments were shared by Roots Party leader Prof. George Wajackoya who told Kenyans who voted in place the Kenya Kwanza administration which has made life unbearable to carry their cross
Wajakoyah, while attending a funeral in Ugunja sub-county on Tuesday stated that Azimio leader Raila Odinga has sacrificed a lot for the sake of this country and his efforts have earned this country devolution and other socio-economic gains.
“Raila has fought enough for this country and they shall no longer allow him to return to the streets to push the government to do anything,”
