Detectives are investigating an incident in which a M-Pesa attendant was trailed and robbed of Sh200,000 in Ukwala town, Siaya County.
The victim told police he was heading home from his M-Pesa shop aboard his motorcycle when a gang of three on another motorcycle trailed him.
The incident happened on Wednesday night.
The victim had left the Ukwala shopping centre and was headed to Uwai village in the area.
As he raced to his home he was attacked from behind where he lost control of the motorcycle and landed into a ditch.
The gang seemed to be aware he was carrying the cash, police said.
They grabbed the cash, his motorcycle and a bag with personal valuables before fleeing the scene.
He was injured following the fall.
The victim was rushed to Ukwala Matibabu Hospital where he was treated and discharged in a fair condition, police said.
Detectives are camping in the area in search of the gang.
