Nuru Maloba Okanga Makes 2 Stunning Revelations

Azimio supporter, Nuru Maloba Okanga, publicly revealed that he scored 320 marks in the recently announced Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE).

The disclosure took place at the Milimani Law Courts, where Mr Okanga faced charges of publishing demeaning words about President William Ruto on his social media platform.

The 32-year-old, married with three children, had been evasive about his KCPE results during a recent interview on NTV.

However, when charged before Milimani Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina, he shared the previously undisclosed information with his defense attorney, Emmanuel Kibet.

During the court proceedings, Magistrate Onyina inquired about Okanga’s educational background, asking which primary school he attended.

Okanga responded, “Mumias Muslim Primary School in Kakamega County.” When questioned about his secondary school admission, he stated, “I am yet to receive my Form One admission letter,” clarifying that the Form One placement exercise had not yet begun.

After this exchange, Court journalists requested Mr Kibet to find out the KCPE marks from his client.

Approaching the vlogger, Mr Kibet asked, “What did you score in the KCPE?” To this, Okanga responded, “320 marks.”

Okanga had been arrested on November 29, 2023, and detained at Capitol Hill Police Station overnight before being arraigned on November 30, 2023.

Before Chief Magistrate Onyina, he faced charges of publishing false information under Section 23 of the Computer Misuse and Cybercrime Act No. 8 of 2018.

The prosecution argued that on November 20, 2023, Mr Okanga, jointly with others not before the court, published an online video captioned “Nuru Okanga on Fire,” containing intimidating and abusive words aimed at discrediting the reputation of a state officer, President Ruto, and provoking a breach of peace.

Okanga denied the charge, and his lawyer sought lenient bail terms, emphasizing that the accused finished Standard 8 this year and is anticipating joining Form One next year.

Kibet highlighted that Okanga resides in Riverside, Nairobi, is not a flight risk, will comply with court terms, is married with three children, and is the sole breadwinner.

The prosecution did not oppose the bail application, and Chief Magistrate Onyina granted the accused Sh10,000 cash bail until December 13, 2023, when the case will be mentioned for pre-trial directions.

The magistrate also directed the prosecution to supply witness statements to the defense to prepare for the trial.

Another stunning revelation is that Okanga held a conversation with senior politician Eugene Wamalwa in which he alleged that he had been approached to present himself to State House Nairobi but he had not done so, for fear of his safety.
