The verbal wars between Transport Cabinet Secretary and Nandi County Senator Samson Kiprotich Arap Cherargei have now reached another level with Murkomen taking Cherargei to court over his continued attacks on the condition of roads in Nandi County.
Addressing a press conference Thursday undeterred Cherargei has vowed to fight the law suit that he says seeks to gag him from fighting for the rights of the over 1 million Nandi residents of their right to equitable share on road networking.
The outspoken Senator further alleged that Murkomen had used goons to embarrass him at functions but realising the method was not productive had now resorted to court action.
Cherargei and Murkomen have been engaged in a war of words with the former accusing the latter of neglecting Nandi County roads and giving road tenders to outsiders.
Murkomen on the other hand had questioned what would become of the Nandi residents who were road contractors in other counties if the Senator was insisting on exclusion of other tribes from the award of contracts within Nandi.
In the meantime, sources have indicated that the push and pull between the CS and Senator could involve an intricate web of kickbacks worth billions out of which one short-changed the other leading to the loud, incoherent noises.
