The Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission has moved to court seeking to charge a former Deputy Governor for allegedly overpricing a piece of land that was to be sold at ksh 7.2 million.
It has been reported that after questioning the suspect on Friday the EACC has established sufficient grounds to move to court.
The former Deputy Governor for Kisumu County allegedly bought the said parcel of land on behalf of the county government at KES 17 million far in excess of the price listed with valuators.
In other news, Raila Odinga has called out the government under President William Ruto for failing to fight corruption in the country. The former Premier has stated that Ruto is incapable of fighting graft as he surrounds himself with corrupt individuals.
Raila scoffed at the president’s efforts to secure employment for Kenyans abroad saying: “Exporting labour is not equal to creating jobs.
