38 Senior DCI Detectives Complete Forensic Course

The two-week training sponsored and facilitated by the International Justice Mission was held at the National Criminal Investigations Academy (NCIA) in Nairobi.

NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 16 — Thirty-eight senior Crime Scene Investigators drawn from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have completed an advanced crime scene processing training that employs modern-day forensic techniques and skills in investigating and solving crimes.

DCI indicated the security agents will be deployed countrywide to share the knowledge with colleagues.

The two-week training sponsored and facilitated by the International Justice Mission was held at the National Criminal Investigations Academy (NCIA) in Nairobi.

NCIA IS a police institution that was recently upgraded and accorded the national status to train both local and international security agencies on crime investigations.

Speaking during the closing ceremony, DCI’s Head of Investigations Bureau Abdallah Komesha called upon the CSI team to utilize the skills they had mastered to solve crimes.

He added that the skills will be crucial in unravelling most crime puzzles in the contemporary society.

Crime scene investigators (CSIs) are also known as forensic investigators or evidence technicians.

Their duties include, securing the scene, separating witnesses, identifying and collecting forensic evidence and analyzing and processing evidence.
