10 people suffered serious injuries on Sunday when a light plane they were travelling in crashed and caught fire in Kiunga area, Lamu County.
According to reliable information, the incident occurred when the aircraft hit electricity poles and crashed as it was ascending from the Kiunga airstrip.
A video seen by DalanewsKe shows the wreckage of the plane scattered all over the scene with villagers attempting to put out the fire that had spread to the area.
The ten including two pilots, seven army officers, and one police officer were rushed to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
Police have promised to investigate the incident.
Meanwhile 10 other people lost their lives following a grisly road accident in Mbooni.
In the dawn incident that left seven others injured, a 14-seater matatu belonging to Makos Sacco rolled at Kwa Mbisu area in Mbooni West along Kikima Kali Road.
At the time, the matatu was headed to Machakos from Kikima. The injured were rushed to Mbooni sub-County hospital.
