Siaya Governor James Aggrey Bob Orengo has emerged third on the list of Best First Term Governors compiled by reputable pollster Mizani Africa.

In a report released on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, the often rigorous pollster placed Narok Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu in first position with 73.6 percent on the performance index closely followed by Muranga’s Irungu Kang’ata at 70.0 percent.
Senior Counsel James Orengo came third with a 63.1 percentage index.
Whereas pollsters have lately been accused of falling for manipulation by their subjects (considering that reputable pollsters add to the Public Relations function) Mizani Africa has retained its credibility.
The results are a big boost to the Siaya Governor who will be hosting former Premier Raila Amollo Odinga in the commissioning of a new maternity theatre complex at Yala sub-County Hospital tomorrow.
Among other projects in tomorrow’s itinerary is the launch of the upgrading project of Ugunja Market Ring-road into bitumen standard as well as the Yala Township Ring-road. Both projects are jointly funded by the County Government of Siaya, the National Government of Kenya and the World Bank.
For Governor Orengo the Mizani Africa Report is a well-deserved acknowledgement of his efforts to fulfil the promises of the “Nyalore” manifesto whose cornerstone is the empowerment of the electorate through modernization and upgrading of infrastructure.
Some would say, it’s a fitting Christmas gift for the hardworking First-term Governor.
