Siaya Governor James Orengo has assured employees that their salaries will be ready on Wednesday.

Orengo said that funds were released to the bank on Friday but the long weekend that extended to Boxing Day which will end on Tuesday has made it difficult for banks to operate.

“We have released funds to the bank but will be ready by Wednesday so be ready to walk to the bank or use a mobile App to withdraw funds for your use.
Baba even though we are being starved by the state we’ve been using our means to sort out staff salaries last November employees got it on the 27th.
“It’s the delay to release funds that affect counties operations,”.

Orengo at the same time termed this year’s Christmas festive season as the worst.

Orengo said President William Ruto must now stop linking the high cost of living to wars going on in the neighbouring countries.

Orengo says that idea is a hoax because other countries that border Kenya that depend on certain imports survive without imposing a tax on Kenyans.

“Kenyans are not in a celebratory mood in this festive season,” said Orengo as Azimio leader Raila Odinga petitioned President William Ruto to invite technocrats for expansive consultations on remedies that can fix the economy

“We are celebrating Christmas in financial distress. Ruto should call for a conversation.
Let’s forgive those who have wronged us. it’s not the intention of the ruling government to do bad things to Kenyans but they want to make things better not knowing the strategy to fix it.

They(Kenya Kwanza administration )are trying to cure an illness with the wrong tab of medicine,” said Raila.

Siaya Senator Oburu Oginga want the ruling government to withdraw the punitive taxes to save the country.

“We are aware that Ruto is imposing a high tax on Kenyans not to sort out the pending debts owed in this country but hoarding funds to facilitate selfish political interests,” said Oburu.

“You have introduced tax beyond Kenyans’ capacity to pay. Ruto’s tax idea will leave Kenya in bankruptcy hence sinking the country.
Mama Idah Odinga has called for the revival of the Ministry of Planning to bring order in which the government programmes are run.
ODM Mps Led by Alego/Usonga MP Samuel Atandi Antony Oluoch (Mathare), Ugunja MP, Opiyo Wandayi noted that Ruto’s governing strategy is worse than that which he has adopted to run his home.
