The Government yesterday evening issued a powerful directive targeting all police station commanders residing within the expansive Kenyan borders.
Addressing the media Eastern Regional Coordinator Mr. Paul Rotich yesterday (the 24th day of December 2023) said the Kenyan Government has ordered police station commanders inhabiting varied local and regional stations to arrest elders and local leaders who side with and protect crime suspects in their areas of jurisdiction.
The Kenyan Government has intimated that there exists a cross-section of leaders and elders who have been playing a key role in financing crime in their respective localities and that they will be arrested and prosecuted.
This is a strategic move fostered towards curtailing the rising cases of crime in the country amongst them being cattle rustling.
The Kenyan Government has further directed all chiefs inhabiting varied local and regional outposts to report all cases of cattle rustling in their respective areas of jurisdiction to security officers in a strategic move fostered towards ensuring timely tracking of stolen animals and their subsequent recovery.
