Alfred Keter’s Shocked Reaction As Malala Carts KES 6 Million Prize Money in Cash

Former Nandi Member of Parliament, Mr.  Alfred Keter has expressed shock and disbelief at the wanton display of extravagance shown by the  United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party  Secretary-General Cleophas Malala.

Reacting to a photo shared online by team Malala showing several heavily armed bodyguards escorting the KES 6 Million to Mumias Stadium, Keter said that this was a display of ill-gotten gains.

Malala might not be alone in organising sporting events lately with huge amounts of prize money yet the ostentatious display smirks at juvenile attention-seeking.

According to Keter, the new crop of politicians allied to Kenya Kwanza have developed a habit of blatantly displaying their wealth on social media.

Several Kenyans on Twitter have also called out Malala for engendering the spirit of avarice among youth.

Nairobi MCA Robert Onyango Alai also took to his different social media platforms to express his opinion on the matter stating that the Kenya Kwanza government under President William Ruto is made up of johnny-come-lately nouveau rich who cannot help showing off.

Alai suggested that the decent thing to do was for Cleo Malala to write a cheque and preserve the motive and dignity of the prizes.

Mr Keter wondered why a few politicians surrounding President Ruto should be allowed to get away with showing off amid the high cost of living that has brought several families in Kenya to their knees.
