Kawira Mwangaza Finally Speaks Out on Family Involvement in Death of Sniper

Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza has finally broken the ice and made direct remarks on the ongoing investigation into the heinous murder of blogger Daniel Muthiani Bernard alias Sniper.

Addressing congregants at a church service on Sunday the Governor who doubles as a bishop said her latest woes were the results of concerted efforts by her political witch-hunters.

“They have tried impeachment, destroying our reputation, court cases, attempts on our lives and failed, now they have come up with this. Those reporting on things they don’t know, some have said my son was arrested. All my children are in church today,”

One of her sons who was picked up by Detectives from DCI who raided their home on Saturday was actually present at the church service.

“We want the investigations to be open. We don’t live in a banana country, we live in a country governed by laws. Do not be biased, don’t be used politically by those whom we defeated in the election whom we know and shall mention. If you were defeated in the election, take a rest. If you want to be governor, let us meet in 2027,” an emotional Kawira Mwangaza said.

On Saturday following investigations at the Kawira home DCI Detectives arrested another suspect identified as Brian Mwenda.

Under auspices of Director Martin Nyuguto, the officers raided the home of the suspect who is believed to be a Bodaboda rider residing on the outskirts of Gachanka Village, Ntima East division in North Imenti Constituency.

The suspect is in custody and will be arraigned at the Kiambu Law Courts Today, Monday 8th 2023.

Calls by Mwangaza that the DCI implement their investigations professionally and without fear or favour have cast aspersions on her direct involvement in the murder of the Meru blogger.

A scenario that is playing out is one in which the Governor’s hangers-on being overzealous to protect their turf could have expedited the murder of Daniel Muthiani Bernard. Why Kawira Mwangaza took so long to speak up on the issue is another matter altogether.
