There is confusion as a girl who sat for the KCPE exam has been placed to join a prestigious boy’s secondary school. Gloria Adhiambo from Siaya sat for the KCPE exams in 2023.
She performed quite well returning a score of 389 marks.
Somehow Gloria Adhiambo has been called to join Lenana School which is a boys secondary school. This error occurred during the school placement exercise by the Ministry of Education.
The school placement exercise was conducted by the ministry two weeks ago. Similar mistakes have been reported by students throughout the country.
Students who sat for the KCPE exam will be joining secondary school within the next two weeks. More than one million students are shortlisted to join secondary schools countrywide.
The Ministry of Education has promised to resolve the confusion in the placements.
In the case of Gloria Adhiambo, the Cabinet Secretary for Education Mr. Ezekiel Machogu has personally promised to resolve the matter within the next few days.
