Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party leader Raila Amollo Odinga has ordered disbandment of the party National Elections Board.
On Thursday the Party Chairman John Mbadi spoke to People Daily publication and revealed that the board bungled some nominations especially in Luo Nyanza region and other party strongholds, a move that contributed to Mr Odinga’s failure to clinch the presidency.
According to Mbadi, the board was incompetent during nominations which led to voter apathy in many areas.
“We have had to restructure the election board because we were dissatisfied with the manner in which they conducted our nominations exercise. The board used Information technology that did not work “, Mbadi said.
This comes in the backdrop of reports that Raila Odinga might be seeking to have a sixth stab at the presidency in 2027. Former Vice-president Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has also indicated that whether Baba runs or not, his name, this time round, will certainly be on the presidential ballot paper.
Others who have shown interest to make a stab at the presidency come 2027 include NARC-Kenya party leader Martha Wangari Karua, and Former Murang’a Governor Mwangi Wa Iria.
