Sega Police are in hot pursuit of two suspects said to have been involved in the dramatic abduction of a Form Four schoolgirl.
The Form 4 student in Ugenya sub-County went missing on January 11, 2024.
“It was reported by a resident of Sirowa Village in Sega Sub-location that her daughter, a Form Four student at Sega Township Secondary School, went missing on January 11, 2024 at an unknown time,” Siaya County Police Commander, Cleti Kimaiyo said.
According to the mother, a caller had reached out to her several times, demanding Sh3,000 to secure the girl’s freedom.
However, the girl was lucky to be rescued by the police on Saturday afternoon after the kidnapper abandoned her along the Sega-Ugunja route, at Airport area.
Kimaiyo confirmed the incident, saying that the girl was rescued unhurt but is undergoing further examination at an hospital.
“She was found unhurt, though she could not talk properly having endured the cold nights outside,” Kimaiyo explained.
She was handed over to her parents to be taken to the hospital for further checkups, he said.
