Police in Nairobi have launched investigations into the tragic death of a middle-aged businesswoman.
Preliminary findings show the woman jumped off the third floor of an apartment in Langata. It is reported that she was alone on the balcony of the house before she leapt off.
A security guard heard a loud thud and when he went to find out what was happening, he found her body sprawled on the ground floor. Her neighbours rushed her to the nearby hospital where she was declared dead on arrival. The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy. Investigations into the matter are underway.
The real motive behind her decision leading to this fatal tragedy remains unclear because she did not leave a suicide note.
This incident adds to the mounting concern regarding the rising number of people who resort to suicide. Many suicide cases are attributed to joblessness, depression and financial challenges.
