Azimio leader Raila Amollo Odinga on Sunday roundly accused the church for wantonly going to bed with the State.
Raila Blames church leaders of neglecting the plight of Kenyans and supporting detrimental policies of the Kenya Kwanza government.
He challenged the leaders to emulate their predecessors such as Rev. Njoya, Bishop Charles Okulu and Bishop David Gitari who fearlessly confronted the government when the need arose to do so.
Raila said the current crop of religious leaders are being used to rubber-stamp state evil after they’ve been invited to Statehouse and collected envelopes.
Raila spoke as he attended a church service at St. Stephens Cathedral, ACK Milimani, Kisumu.
“We prayed for our country and its future and left inspired with a renewed message of hope in our hearts,” Raila wrote on his Twitter page.
