Refrain From Raw Anger, Embrace Competition Kidero Advice to ODM

The Chief Administrative Secretary in the Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry Dr. Evans Kidero last night diagnosed the anger within ODM Party cadres as depression from losing the 2022 Presidential Elections.

On a breakfast television show, Kidero reacted to the recent flare of violent utterances directed at Interior PS Raymond Omollo as frustration with the strong inroads UDA Party is making in the Nyanza region which was predominantly viewed as an ODM Party enclave.

“The ODM brigade is very angry and even what they’re displaying in this discussion is raw anger and bitterness. Last week they exhibited crude anger. They are out there threatening anyone who supports any other party in Luo Nyanza like the UDA with physical whipping… They are soon going to the third stage of depression,” said Kidero, adding “I am a pharmacist by training and I know the drugs for treating depression. I can easily avail some to the Azimio leaders. Then they will go to the fourth stage of negotiation and acceptance.”

The former Governor of Nairobi City County was tipped to win in the Homabay Gubernatorial race in the 2022 Elections but somehow got short-changed in the nominations by bigwigs from the ODM Party Secretariat. Kidero then joined the United Democratic Alliance UDA Party and because of his monumental influence in the region has posed a headache for the ODM fraternity.

Speaking on the current tensions between the Executive and the Judiciary, Kidero said: “Dialogue among the three arms of the government must always be encouraged. Dialogue does not mean discussing the merits and demerits of specific cases before our courts. The Chief Justice does not issue directives to judges and magistrates on how to decide cases pending before them. The fact that the Chief Justice has agreed to meet the President does not mean they are going to discuss the case lodged against the Executive or Parliament.”

A visibly relaxed, conversant and more polished debater, Kidero had an upper hand on other panellists in the television interview.
