As sitting politicians continue disbursing NG-CDF bursary and County bursary kitties a more remarkable event took place in Kisumu County on Saturday January 27, 2024.
A Senatorial aspirant Wakili Fred Odumo Nying’uro distributed cheques to 60 needy students from his personal Watoto Wasome na Wakili Fred Odumo Nying’uro Education Fund.
The event was unique since across the whole Republic of Kenya this was the only significant personal initiative by an individual who is yet to occupy office. Wakili has initiated a program of going from home to home to identify needy students in Kisumu County.
“Am giving this assurance to the parents, you will never walk alone. I will ensure that I am with you as long as God gives me life,” said lawyer Fred Nying’uro.
“I am supporting students in day schools, within the locality so that the money circulates within us and allow our children to return home and help the parents with other chores,” he added.
The event which saw all the 60 beneficiaries get a full-year-fee took place in Muhoroni-Koru Ward in Muhoroni sub-County.
The students supported will be reporting to Mutwala Girls’ Secondary School, Our Lady Queen of Peace Secondary School, Mariwa Mixed Secondary and Muhoroni Secondary School.
