Kibra Societal Empowerment, Peace and Budget Champions Organization through their Secretary-general Hrd. David Livingstone Kose Oyombe yesterday participated in the launch and award presentation of the National Gender Equality Commission which took place at the Safari Park Hotel.
The bottomline theme was how to advance equality through progressive policy towards a future for all.
The selected policy options were improving social protection coverage, access to health and education especially for women and girls including access to TVETs, and improving labour productivity.
The Chief Guest was Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. Also in attendance were Dr. Joyce Mutinda, Chairperson NGEC, Dr. Ekra Ndungu, Chairperson, KENATCO, PS. Salim Hidris Nikota and Betty Sungura Nyabuto, CEO NGEC.
Also present was Senior Anchor at Citizen Television Victoria Rubadiri.
The annual National Gender Equality Commission (NGEC) awards are presented to groups or individuals who demonstrate efforts to promote gender equality and freedoms. Kibra Societal Empowerment, Peace and Budget Champions Organization has been recognised as one such group.
