Kisumu Senatorial aspirant Wakili Fred Odumo Nying’uro today took time off from the frenzy and bustle of everyday life to visit babies and do some bonding.
In a photo taken at an undisclosed children’s home in Kisumu, Wakili was seen paying great attention as he listened to the little ones blubbering and chortling in a language far sublime to the noise of politics and commerce.
“Amid the noise and haste of daily enterprise it’s important to take time off and listen to the tranquillity that resides in the inner self,” said Wakili Fred Odumo Nying’uro.
For the whole week, the Nairobi-based lawyer has been busy in pursuit of his philanthropic agenda meeting with widows in Dago area, strategizing for the ODM Party recruitment drive in Nyando, distributing foodstuff to an orphanage in Sango Rotta, expounding city by-laws to Bodaboda riders and funding the refurbishment of the ECD block at Bunde Primary School.
It has been a busy week, indeed.
Wakili says that apart from listening to the vacuous laughter of babies he relaxes by reading Homer and Shakespeare, painting and listening to cool rhythm and blues music.
Besides the fine arts, Wakili has an even finer taste as a human being — and that’s giving a listening ear to everyone, be they toddlers, teens, or the aged.
As he prepares to represent Kisumu County in the Senate come 2027, Wakili has laid out a blueprint for Communication whereby he will have a liaison officer who will link with Muhoroni, Nyakach, Nyando, Seme, Kisumu East, Kisumu Central and Kisumu West.
“A lot of bureaucracy and middlemen always hamper service delivery. If the people vote for us I don’t see why we should not deal one-to-one with the people once in office. It’s the right thing to do. It’s a mark of decency,” said Wakili Fred Odumo Nying’uro, and you can tell he means it.
