“The church has been supplementing the government through the many projects it has initiated,” said Orengo adding that county technical teams will be sent from the departments concerned to ascertain the situation and do a report to that effect.

The church has established Methodist Health Center, sunk a water borehole at KES 1.8 million and Nyasanda Technical Institute.

Rev. Mootian, announced that KEMU-Technical and Vocational Technical Institute seeks to mentor Nyasanda Technical Institute students for long-term benefit to Siaya residents.

The institute will be offering certificate and diploma technical courses.

The Clergy said the aim of reviving Nyasanda was to allow students acquire technical skills locally.

“Once the technical experts have ascertained the technical institute and done a report on its gaps then presented it to management of KEMU, we will invite the office of the governor to witness the handing over,” said Mootian.

He added, “Once it’s up and running, we shall encourage youths including those who did KCSE to enroll for technical programs at the institution,”
