A toddler was burnt to death after fire consumed his family house while he was asleep.
The fire that killed the 2-year-old erupted on Monday and affected 10 other houses in Muchorwi centre, Molo.
According to a police report, the toddler, identified as Joseph Kamau was burnt beyond recognition.
Fire engine from Timsales responded to the emergency and helped switch off the fire.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
In exactly the same day last month a mother and her daughter perished in an inferno within Umoja 2 Village in Molo.
The 24-year-old woman identified as Beatrice Wairimu, and her 8-year-old daughter, Angel Wairimu, died after their house caught fire in the wee hours of a Saturday morning.
According to James Macharia, Beatriece’s father, who escaped unhurt, after having supper and a chat with his daughter and granddaughter, they proceeded to sleep as there was a power blackout in the area.
He said he suspects the candle used in Beatrice’s bedroom might have started the fire.
Locals lamented over regular power outages in the area, adding that their complaints have fallen on deaf ears.
The family eulogised Beatrice and her daughter as hardworking, loving and jovial people.
Beatrice was to relocate to Nairobi on the following Monday in search of greener pastures.
