Shock has gripped residents of Wambusa village in Gem Wagai as the body of a 56-year-old man was found Thursday morning dumped in a thicket.
Pedestrians came across the deceased, identified as Joseph Sijenyi, prompting them to raise alarm and notify relevant authorities who arrived at the scene.
The incident was subsequently reported to Akala Police Station by the area Assistant Chief, Lucas Ogola.
Confirming the incident, Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo told Royal Media Services reporter that officers responding to the distress call discovered deep cuts on the deceased’s body, signs, he says, suggesting that Sijenyi might have been murdered.
Investigations to ascertain the deceased’s exact cause of death are underway while his body has been moved to Bondo Sub-County Hospital Mortuary pending post-mortem.
