Senior Counsel Otiende Amollo has responded after his lawyer son Rodney Amollo was accused of pocketing Kshs 150,000 from a man living in the UK.

The said man alleged that he reached out to Rodney Amollo the son of Hon Otiende Amollo, on a legal matter concerning being abused and bullied online. He says he reached out to Rodney as a lawyer to write a demand letter which he quoted as Ksh 60,000 and the man promptly paid up.

He alleges that two days later Rodney came back to him saying they needed to take a criminal route and he brought a DCI along and they had a telephone conference where they both told him to prepare his case, he needed to pay Ksh 200K.

He says that he thought this was too much and negotiated Ksh 150K.

” I live in England I had no [idea] why this was needed. After I paid Ksh 150K Rodney Amollo stopped talking to me. He stopped picking up my calls or answering my messages. I think this is wrong morally and ethically. I want to highlight it. All I want is my money back.” He said.

However, Otiende Amollo has dared the man to sue his son saying that paying legal services doesn’t not amount to a debt.
