Three people were on Thursday arraigned in a Siaya Court among them a driver attached to the Siaya Governor’s office for the offence of assaulting a political activist.

Chris Owalla was attacked by persons known to himself and badly beaten up as he was leaving a burial in Central Sakwa. The attack was reported to be politically motivated. 

Mr. Owalla is a human and environmental activist who has been in the forefront of questioning the inflated wage bill arising from the Siaya Public Service Board engaging unqualified and excessive personnel.

A vernacular radio station confirmed that a driver attached to Governor Orengo’s office is among the three suspects who were arrested by Detectives from DCI and after being positively identified were on Thursday arraigned in court.


In other news, Performance and Delivery Management Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has stated that the former Prime Minister of Kenya who is also the Presidential candidate of the Azimio la Umoja Coalition, Right Honorable Raila Amollo Odinga is not going to quit politics.

Reliable sources have confirmed that Kuria who was speaking about Raila Odinga’s bid to  become the next chairman of the African Union stated that the former Prime Minister of Kenya was born to be a politician 

Raila Odinga has himself reiterated that he is not going to quit local politics even when he lands the continental assignment.
