Uproar As World’s Most Beautiful Footballer Plays Against Sister in League

IT WAS double delight this weekend for fans as “the world’s most beautiful footballer” played against her sister.

The Croatian Ana Maria Markovic, 24, has had no problems finding the net on Instagram and amassed a huge following of 3.2 million.

FAns were in shock to see that their was another Markovic causing a stir on the pitch.

The star plays in the Swiss Women’s Super League at Grasshopper and has recently returned from a nasty-looking knee injury she suffered last year.

Ana Maria was born in Split and represents Croatia so idolises Luka Modric – though her favourite player is Cristiano Ronaldo as she admires his discipline.

The forward won her first cap for Croatia in 2021, and that is when the media attention on her incredible looks began.

She has since stated that she hates her “world’s sexiest footballer” tag as it brings unwanted attention.

However, yesterday it was another member of her family that stole some of the headlines as she and Grasshopper travelled to Rapperswil for a league match.

While Ana Maria was only named on the bench for the visitors, her younger sister Kristina was part of the opposition’s attack.

And after Grasshopper had taken an early lead, the 22-year-old scored the equaliser just moments before the break.

Unfortunately, Rapperswil did not manage to hold on until half time as they went 2-1 down.

Then just seven minutes into the second period they grabbed a third as they claimed a 3-1 victory.

Ana Maria was introduced as a substitute in the 71st minute, while Kristina was replaced in the 82nd minute.

And despite only being on the pitch together for such a short time, the elder sibling still celebrated that fact on Instagram afterwards.

Along with a love heart and star emoji, she wrote: “Always special to play against you sisterheart @kkmarkovic.”

That was accompanied by a shot of Ana Maria kitted out and smiling, another of her standing alongside her sister during the game and another action shot of her in action.

Fans were quick to jump into the comments, with one of the first responses saying: “Damn there’s another one?”

“Sister duels are the best,” said another while a third wrote said that it was “double delight”.

A fourth said: “Omg what am I seeing!”

While a fifth added that they were “both totally beautiful”.
