A vehicle carrying Tanzanian Member of Parliament Christopher Ole Sendeka was last night sprayed in a hail of bullets by unknown persons.
The incident occurred at Ndaleta, Kiteto District in Manyara Province as the MP was travelling back to his constituency in Simanjiro.
Christopher Ole Sendeka has had a long and illustrious political career at one time being appointed by the late president John Pombe Magufuli as the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) national spokesperson.
According to the Manyara Province Police Commander Lucas Mwakatundu both Ole Sendeka and his driver survived the attack unharmed.
“We placed the MP in our custody overnight for safekeeping and interrogation. He and his driver were virtual unhurt,” Mwakatundu told Mwananchi newspaper.
