Detectives in Nairobi on Thursday arrested five notorious thugs, including a lady, for breaking into a businessman’s car in South C and stealing Ksh 2.8 million.

The victim reported the incident at Akila Police Station, Lang’ata, revealing that the felons struck while he was parked along Muhoho Road.

Within minutes of leaving his car, he returned to find his rear window smashed and his bag, containing the money and important documents, missing.

Following the trail, detectives discovered withdrawals from the victim’s bank accounts. Utilizing CCTV footage, they identified Charles Nzomo as the culprit breaking into the car, with Paul Mukungi and Vincent Juma Raguma acting as lookouts.

Jane Mueni Mutinda stalked the victim while Shaban Rashid Maingi waited in a getaway vehicle.

The suspects were arrested and the victim’s ATM card and car-breaking tools were recovered.

The apprehended suspects are now in custody at DCI Lang’ata offices, with efforts underway to recover another stolen vehicle and arrest a sixth accomplice.
