Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has announced the arrest of a Nyeri tycoon notorious for supplying alcohol in the whole of Mount Kenya region.

The DP warned police officers that he’s aware whenever the said tycoon is arrested he usually buys his freedom by bribing police officers.

“Now he has been arrested, let him face the full force of the law,” said Gachagua.

He l made it clear that any attempt to release the drug baron from prison will not be accepted and he will personally follow up on the matter.

He decried the culture of impunity that has enabled such barons to thrive on Illicit trade saying: “the days of impunity are over and we will not entertain his release at whatever cost.”

Gachagua has been on the forefront of fighting the brewing and selling of illicit brews in the Mount Kenya region, saying it retards development.

He, however, reiterated his confidence in the Kenya Police Service saying he was confident this particular tycoon will not be released until he goes through court process.
