Compassionate incoming Kisumu County Senator, Wakili Fred Odumo Nying’uro yesterday condoled with the family of John Owino, a young man who lost his life to unknown assailants due to increased insecurity in Kisumu town.

John Owino was brutally murdered by unidentified assailants on his way to his residence on the evening of Tuesday 12 April, 2024.

The deceased was laid to rest on Saturday today at Kabienge village, Agoro Market in Southwest Ward of Nyakach sub-County.

While condoling with the family Wakili Fred Odumo Nying’uro said it’s always a blow to the nation when a person dies in his prime; that the late John should have perished at the hands of thugs makes it even more painful for the bereaved.

“My heartfelt condolences go to friends and family of John Owino,” said Mr. Nying’uro, adding “It is with shock and deep sorrow that I learnt about his untimely death at the hands of brigands who are probably fellow youth misguided that there’s any other way to make a living apart from decent hard work. May God grant you fortitude to get through this trying phase of your life.”

Wakili described the departed as a gallant young man who recognised the value of hard work. He decried the spiking rate of lawlessness among Kisumu youth and said no matter how alluring shortcuts to wealth may appear, the end result is always painful.

Wakili contributed a tidy sum to aid in the burial arrangements as well donating dozens of purified bottled water.

Fred Odumo Nying’uro is eyeing the Kisumu Senatorial seat that will fall vacant come the next General Elections as the current Senator will be a candidate for the gubernatorial seat.

With a field of political minions and upstarts as his rivals, Wakili Fred Odumo Nying’uro is more or less certain of clinching the position and becoming the next Senator of Kisumu County.
